Her Royal Cuteness turns 1

And she turns one, minus the glitz and glam that usually surrounds first birthdays.

The mango cake looked fabulous, thanks to Say Cheese and Pudding and tasted out-of-this-world! :) The 'In The Night Garden' figurines arrived from UK just in time to make it on top of the cake, thanks to the sheer determination of Aunt Ruhi.

The birthday costume was a little big still and needed filling out (now's the time to admit, she has my 'skinny' genes)..

We had to rush through the birthday celebration to make it to Universal Studio by 7pm, so 1 take was all we could afford for Sofia and her cousin Elya, who turns 8.

but it was well worth the rush (especially to get the $2 June promo tickets..):

We combed Hollywood Boulevard and stopped in at Mel's Drive-In for a quickie dinner and a little cam-whoring between the chickees (amazing what you get when you put a camera into the hands of a 13-year old!)..

Some snapshots to wrap up the party before both Onesies got too cranky past their bedtime (but that's bloody impossible with Aqil who is forever smiley!!! *geram*)

..before we headed home just in time for the rest of the cuzzies to fall into their makeshift beds exhausted.

It was the perfect sleepover party for the Sofia's birthday- low key with guests she is comfortable with. Seeing how introverted she is especially around new faces, Hafidz and I thought we'd save ourselves the discomfort of watching her wail and flail when somebody tries to make a grab for her.

Happy birthday my darling, now Mummy needs to figure a way to wean you off completely. Its just so not cool to breastfeed a baby who can't even fit into my lap anymore.
